'Ambleside hostels, great places to stay'

Trip advisor classes this type of accommodation as 'speciality lodgings' - Well sorry, but we do not put any value on trip advisor as an organisation, so please try to make your own mind up;
Note I say above; 'hostels and great places to stay' - well there are 2 hostels in Ambleside, ours and the YHA, and both are great places to stay.
There are differences: we are located pretty well in the town so food and drink and the 3 mini supermarkets are very close. I have to say however that the location of the Youth Hostel is very good on the Lake shore. So now you have a choice you need to make.
Views or convenience? Of course you will not actually be at either hostel much except at night and morning to be staring at views all day, certainly not from this hostel as we throw you all out at 1030 (unless the weather is really nasty or you are quite ill) We are good like that! I believe that the short walk to pubs and restaurants is quite popular with most, especially if you have had a good day on your bike or walking the fells. They have a restaurant -we do not need to - there are 30 places within 10 minutes walking from our front door where you can chose from Indian, Chinese, Tai, French(sorry, that is now a Solicitors office!), Vedgie, loads of English and a few quaint speciality places too.
As for breakfast -if you want a fry up you can easily cook your own here for a few bob, if you do not want to cook there are some good places to buy a fried breakfast close by. Most however find the self serve breakfast of toast, preserves, cereals, tea and coffee we offer here in the bed cost to be more than adequate. As a last resort have a look at our reviews and ratings -they are pretty good, perhaps they might help you decide between us; Ambleside Backpackers and the Ambleside Youth Hostel. Remember, our prices include breakfast, tea and coffee morning and evening and WIFI morning and evening - what more could you want on top of good clean warm accommodation in Ambleside, right in the heart of the English Lake District.
Ambleside is almost next to Grasmere, Hawkhead,Skelwith and Windermere Town, but not quite -say 4 miles to each or an hours good fast walking.So when you see an address that says 'Grasmere, Ambleside' do watch out Grasmere is not right next to Ambleside!
